Thank you for taking the time to read Volume 9 Spring 2020 of the Undergraduate Journal of Service Learning and Community-Based Research. Our publication date was pushed back by a month due to the COVID-19 epidemic. We hope that you are staying safe and healthy during this difficult time.

The goal of the Undergraduate Journal of Service Learning and Community-Based Research is to highlight the important work that undergraduate students are doing in the community. We publish a variety of articles including research articles and reflective articles, both of which can be read in this issue. For additional information about the types of articles that we publish, please visit our website.

Three of the articles in this volume are reflective pieces. Students have reflected on many different service learning and community-based research experiences, from an international service trip to starting a non-profit to address food insecurity, to mentoring youth. Two articles are research articles. One, in the category research done in partnership with a community organization, includes both the product that the students provided to the fire department as well as the students’ reflection on that experience. The other research article is about restorative justice practices, specifically in alternative schools. All of the undergraduate student authors worked hard to write and revise their pieces so they could be published in this journal.

We hope you enjoy the articles in Volume 9. Submissions for the Fall 2020 Volume 10 are due by August 15^th. If you are an undergraduate who is doing this type of work, please submit your pieces through our website. Faculty and staff, please encourage students to submit their work as well. We look forward to reading your submissions!
